July 4th - At home this year!

After Rhett spent the morning painting Raly's new room, we headed to Town Center for their July 4th festivities which started immediately with sugar. They even shared with me. Yum, yum...I truly love cotton candy! Raly waited for approximately 2 hours to get her face painted. Daddy was patient enough to wait with her while Reese and I played games. Raly was determined to get her face painted as a dog; however...... she ended up hating it and as soon as she got to the car, we wiped it off. We thought it was pretty cute, but she despised the tongue...she did ask for a boxer!

Yet another upset child! OH BROTHER (literally Adam, I think he gets this behavior from you!). Raly and Rhett were lighting off fireworks/firecrackers and Reese was terrified...REALLY TERRIFIED! Poor guy, we all thought it was pretty funny!

Raly getting a lesson in lighting fireworks!

Later on, he calmed down, but he still didn't like them much!
After lighting off our fireworks and getting rained on, we headed to our bedroom for quite an impressive show to the east of our house. Reese liked the big display much better from inside.

Construction Update

So here's where we are: Drywall is complete, wood floor for the study area is in (not yet sanded or finished), paint is purchased, linoleum is in, trim is nearly complete and Rhett has primed almost everything! (Painting is one thing that we (a.k.a. Rhett) are doing ourselves). So, Raly's new bedroom and bathroom are ready for color. Raly was so excited to be grown up enough to help paint her room.

We still have a ways to go....

He's Here!

Brody Eugene McQuitty was born on June 30th at 7:27 a.m. Doesn't he look great in his purple KSU hat (disregard the blue and red onsie he's wearing)! Congratulations Em and Josh, he's simply precious! It was love at first sight for Raly and Reese was very curious. Raly kept telling us that holding Brody was good practice for her.

A day with Heidi

We had a fun visit at Heidi and Phil's in Fort Collins. Raly and Anne Wesley bonded and Reese played well with Coy, who just turned two. It was a fun visit. They had this fun toy that Reese played with for at least an hour.

Sports Camp

The week of June 21st, Reese attended a sports camp for three hours each morning. They focused on basketball, soccer, and baseball. I think he had fun and he was always quite tired so I think it was money well spent!

Here he's attempting to dribble the basketball before shooting. Water Break!
Soccer time!

A tired boy!

Hanging out with cousins

At lunch, Owen was making Reese laugh so hard that he could barely breathe. The kids loved the miniature golf even though they rushed through each hole.
