Ouch!

Yesterday, May 30th (Grandpa's birthday), we spent the afternoon in the cul-de-sac rollerblading (Reese) and roller skating (Raly). They loved practicing, but Reese needed a lot of help. Sorry, no pictures of this...too lazy to run inside for the camera.

Later, Connor and Reese were racing to get a ball and they collided. Reese being smaller, ended up, head first, on the pavement. Poor guy.

A Visit in Goodland

On our way back to Colorado, we stopped in Goodland to visit Auntie Em who is on bed rest for the remainder of her pregnancy. She seems to be doing okay and doesn't have too much longer to go before she makes it to 36 weeks (only about two more weeks). While we were there, Reese talked Uncle Josh into teaching him to play some Wii bird shooting game. Reese actually did pretty well. Uncle Josh and Grandad should be so proud!

Driving???

Grandma, Raly, and Reese drove the golf cart home for some driving lessons. Yikes! Raly and Reese love driving in the pasture behind the house. Here they are getting ready to head to the back. Certainly not the smartest idea...Reese loved racing the golf cart while Grandma watched closely so that Raly drove just far enough away from Reese that I allowed this to happen!
Reese drove one speed: pedal to the metal! Raly drove more slowly so that she could look for beautiful flowers. She stopped often during her turns to pick the wild flowers!

Sprinkler Fun

After viewing all the cars downtown, we came home to cool off in the sprinkler. It took Reese a while to run in the water because he saw a bug! Recently, he has developed two fears: bugs and things falling on him like flagpoles, trees, light posts, etc.

Atwood Rod Run

The kids and I drove to Atwood for Rod Run. I thought Reese would love the cars and the drag races (which we didn't even attend because it was so hot and windy). Reese got to drive a race car with Grandma.

Three Little Wolves

On May 21, Raly's kindergarten class presented the Three Little Wolves. Reese was terrible during the play...as you can tell by this video clip. He didn't want to be there and then each time I tried to video, he tried to grab the camera. Uhhgg! Note to self...get a babysitter for the next play!

On May 20th, Rhett and I were able to take off work to watch Raly on field day. Raly's favorite race was the "Turtle Race." Not sure what these scooter things are called, but she loved them...even her teacher participated.
I didn't get to see all the activities because I was a volunteer for the afternoon and was in charge of the water balloon toss. Rhett followed Raly to each event...looks like she is having fun!

Family Picnic at Preschool

On Reese's last day of school (May 20), his preschool hosted a family picnic. Rhett and I thought it was really fun even though Reese had a melt down when we both left him at school for the rest of the day to attend Raly's field day.

Raly's First Trophy

On May 15, Raly's spring soccer season ended. This is a picture of her getting a trophy from Coach Frank (who was a superb coach for six year old girls). He said that Raly played "sweeper" really well and that he never had to worry about her being in the right place at the right time. She is very proud of her soccer trophy. We were also responsible to snacks for the last game. Grandma Rosie had special soccer cookies made in Atwood that she and Grandpa brought to Highlands Ranch with them. Everyone was so impressed with the cute and delicious cookies.

Going on a Frog Hunt

It's hard to see them, but we did get to see 4 baby geese. What do you call them, goslings??? I saw one tadpole and one full grown frog, but Reese didn't pay attention long enough to see anything. He had the most fun kicking at the dirt and eating his sack lunch!

Reese had a field trip on May 6th to Hudson Gardens. We were suppose to be "frog hunting," but the frogs are afraid of noise and as you can imagine, forty some preschoolers aren't very quiet.

A Lazy Morning for All

Reese and Todd were resting together and Raly wanted to join in before the picture. Todd is amazingly patient with the kids (mainly Reese).

Attempting to ride without training wheels.

Reese gave it a try, but was too afraid. We'll try again in another month or so.

Easter

Grandma and Grandad visited Easter weekend. Raly got to color Easter eggs with Grandad.

When we got home from church, we got to hunt for Easter eggs in the backyard.

Raly's Soccer Game

On April 3rd, Raly had a soccer game and Grandma Connie got to watch. Raly had a good game; I think she kicked the ball about four times during the game.
Raly's getting ready to kick the ball here. She told me the other day that the best thing about soccer is the snacks. A true soccer love, huh?

Reese's Birthday

Reese had a Star Wars cake and Todd thought it looked and smelled delicious!

Fun in the Snow.

On March 25, 2010, the kids had fun playing in the snow. Reese enjoyed climbing the "mountains" of dirty snow created by the snow plow and Raly created a "Snow Princess."
Connor and I built a snowman and Raly decided our snowman needed a princess.

First Tooth Lost

On March 9, 2010, Raly lost her first tooth. The tooth fairy brought her $2, but she was very sad that her tooth was gone "forever." She lost a second tooth just a few days later while eating pizza at school. She accidentally swallowed it. Some of the children at school told her that she would have to have her stomach cut open to get it. As you can imagine, she was totally distraught. Luckily one very sympathetic teacher explained the facts to her and then helped her write a note to the Tooth Fairy about the whole situation. That night the Tooth Fairy brought her another $2.00.

Fun Dip!

I broke down and let the kids eat Fun Dip (2.28.10). They LOVE IT!
