Sunday Sledding

We all had a fun afternoon at the sledding hill. Well, I'm not sure how much fun Rhett had...he was the one carrying the sleds up the hill.

Raly was on the sled with me until she fell off half way down. I turned in a full circle and ended up with snow down my backside! Raly was cautious on the hill, but she still had a lotof fun.

Reese was a daredevil...wait till you see the video below!!

Sooooo funny!

The Litteton Stride

Mom and Dad came out to watch Raly and Reese while Rhett and I attended Randy and Melissa's wedding reception downtown (we stayed the night downtown as well). On Saturday morning, Mom and I walked in the Littleton Stride, a "race" to raise money for Littleton Public Schools Foundation. We completed the 5K in less than an hour!

Halloween

Raly dressed as Belle for Halloween and Reese was suppose to be Lightening McQueen, but he had to stay home because he was sick. He wasn't too bummed. He got to watch Cars...again.

Best Buddies (sometimes)

Reese and Todd watching television. They have such a love/hate relationship.

Snow Fun!

While I attended a training yesterday, Rhett stayed home with the kids (Raly didn't have school yesterday and we decided just to keep Reese home, too). At some point during the day, Jodie offered to take the kids sledding. Thanks Jodie!
Today while I shoveled, Raly and Reese played for a short time. They didn't last long because it was windy and cold and the snow was very deep! Oh so helpful... Todd could have played for hours. He was so happy to be running in the snow. He was bouncing around like bunny!

Here is a short video clip that Jodie took while sledding.

Our Snow Dance was Successful!

It's a Snow Day, no school. We have had over two feet of snow. Here is a picture looking down our street.

OMG! Raly is 6 Years Old!

I can hardly believe it. Raly is 6 years old! On her birthday, her friends, Kylie and Paige, spent the day with us. At lunch, Pallen and Connor joined the princesses and Reese at McDonald's (Raly's restaurant of choice). For not really have a birthday party, she had a very fun day with friends. (For those of you who don't know, Raly agreed not to have a big party so that she could get a "canopy bed" from us). After our McDonald's lunch, we had a 'tea party' complete with "special juice" and cake!
I somehow got my pictures out of order, so sorry for the confusion. This picture with Grandma Rosie should be at the very end. Grandma read "Pinkalious" before Raly went to sleep in her very pink princess room.

Raly is a little stunned by her new room....

...but, very pleased!

And, Reese attempted to capture every moment.

Raly looks around her room while sitting at her new desk!

Yes, she's a spoiled six year old. Rhett and I don't even have bedroom furniture. Oh, the things we do for our children....

A Visit from Friends

Chris and Kris Hess and their daughter, Paige, spent the week in Colorado. Fortunately, we had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with Kris and Paige. Raly and Paige played well together, except for the occasional disagreement.

Thanks for spending the week with us. Kris and I hadn't seen each other in 5 years and we've made a promise not to let that much time go by again.

Playing in the Snow

Before school on the 22nd, Reese played in the snow (on our deck) for about 20 minutes. He loves playing in the snow. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten him any snow gloves yet, so he had to wear Raly's pink mittens from last season. Poor boy!!

Tooty Ta

While Grandma was here, Reese taught her the Tooty Ta dance. It was hilarious! I wish I would have taken video.

Fall Break (for Raly)

Raly had fall break from the 19th-23rd so Grandma Connie came to watch Raly while Reese and I had school. Since it was Raly's birthday week, Grandma agreed to take Raly to Build-a-Bear Workshop for her birthday present. Raly was thrilled! When Reese, Rhett, and I got home, Raly and Grandma put on a "Bear Fashion Show" complete with her new bear, Fuzzy, and his outfits including his Halloween costume.

Thanks for your help Grandma Connie!!!

A Day at the Pumpkin Patch

On October 17th, Raly, Reese, and I decided to fight the crowds at the Pumpkin Patch (while Rhett was in Manhattan for the A&M game). The weather was fantastic and our neighbors, Ed, Sherri, Olivia, and Hudson, accompanied us. We all had a great time. (besides the short time when Reese wondered off and my heart was in my stomach...luckily Raly was with us because she found him). Of course, we didn't JUST get pumpkins...we rode some rides, ate turkey legs and hotdogs, and then walked through the patch looking for some decent pumpkins!

Raly and Reese loved this swing ride.

Reese liked trying to pick up each pumpkin to see if he could lift them. He also liked kicking the smaller ones as if they were soccer balls.

Raly actually posed for a picture!

This pumpkin was so big, it required team work!

One final picture before we headed home for naps.

So Tired!

CARS, CARS, CARS! Reese has become a big fan of the movie, Cars. I think he's watched it about 30 times. On October 16, he fell asleep watching it. Doesn't he look so innocent?

Fall Festival

At the beginning of October, we participated in the Fall Festival at Copper Mesa Elementary (Raly's school). Jodie, Jon, Pallen, and Connor went with us. Raly and Connor are becoming the best of friends.

Here we are on a hay ride.

As prizes, the kids won candy and silly little toys. The vampire teeth were a hit!!

Reese looks SCARY!!!

HOW MUCH WOULD YOU PAY...

to see one of these concerts? Raly has a new way to make money: singing! She said that she takes credit cards if you don't have dollar bills. See the white container, that's where she's collecting her money (reminds me of a homeless person). Let's hope she doesn't have to rely on her voice for a living.

Sorry you have to crank your neck sideways to view these. I'll have to rememember that for her future music videos. Remember if you watch these, you will be "charged" (by Raly).

For this first video, she changed a few on the lyrics????? Don't ask me where she came up with her second song??? I don't think she cares as long as she has been paid in advance.

Our Time at the Coast

Even though it was such a short time (one night), we had a great time on the Oregon Coast at Rockaway Beach. The house that Aunt Jane found was amazing! The kids had a great time on the beach. They could have spent many more hours playing in the sand and running away from the water.

Dad found this dump truck in the garage and Reese played with it for hours.

Finding smooth black rocks.
Raly actually posed with me!

And then I agreed to pose with Em. Sunday was very windy, but not too chilly.

Dad is holding Raly because a wave took her down. Even though it was a small wave, it startled us all. But, it didn't discourage her from going out again and again!

Monday morning was beautiful...mostly sunny, no wind...perfect really. I don't know why Reese wanted his hood up!

Although Reese loved playing in the sand, he wasn't real fond of the water. In this picture, was was running back to drier land!

Wedding in Oregon

Nathan, my cousin, got married in Oregon. It was a beautiful garden wedding. It was also a great place for kids. They were able to run around, tackle each other, and dance.

Reese wouldn't cooperate for a group picture.
But, I caught him anyway! Notice all the boys are wearing t-shirts with ties. So cute!

Raly loves Ryan and Cole, Aunt Jane's boys. She even talked Ryan into dancing with her.

I love this picture of Mom and Dad. I snapped this right before their romantic dance was interrupted by Raly wanting to dance with them, too.

Dedra and I got to dance with the groom! What a fun day! Thanks for getting married, Nathan.

On Sunday, we had to part ways with Adam, Dedra, Owen, and Miles. As we were leaving, Adam gave the kids a ride on the luggage cart. They were all yelling, "Choo, choo." I'm sure all the people at the hotel were happy when we left.

Walk Up Theater

It's a "walk-up with blankets and bean bags theater." Our neighbors organized an outdoor movie night. It was really fun, complete with a free concession stand.
